On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., the traditional birthday concert will take place at the birthplace of Gustav Mahler in Kaliště near Humpolec. The program will feature songs by Gustav Mahler and Alma Schindler-Mahler, as well as the second movement ("Non allegro – Lento") from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 36 (the 1931 revised version), and Franz Liszt’s concert etude *Waldesrauschen* (Forest Murmurs), S. 145 (1862). The concert will feature soprano Virginia Genovese and pianist Ekaterina Baranovskaia. Virginia Genovese is the recipient of several international awards; notably, she was a laureate of the Mahler Jihlava Festival Prize—awarded during the Lied Academy in Žďár nad Sázavou—and won first prize at the Donizetti Rotary Club Bergamo competition, among other honors. Ekaterina Baranovskaia is also a laureate of several international competitions, including the Mahler Jihlava Festival Prize 2025 (awarded at the Lied Academy in Žďár nad Sázavou), second prize at the Città di San Donà di Piave competition (2023), and third prize at the Franz Cibulka Music Competition in Graz (2024).

The traditional rose planting will take place before the concert. Admission is free, as is the bus, which departs at 2:00 PM from the former Hotel Gustav Mahler.
